Technology Install Partners is your go-to solution for all things security and life safety. One of our newest capabilities is providing and installing BDA Systems.
BDA stands for bidirectional antenna system; they are large antennas used to increase frequencies for local first responders to utilize when entering a building that has otherwise poor connectivity.
Essential, the BDA systems help keep EMTs, police, and firefighters safe by improving their Emergency Responder Radio System (ERRS) when on a response call.
In order to install BDA systems into a new or existing building, the installer must be FCC certified, which we are at Technology Install Partners. We have the ability to install these systems throughout the country through our extensive list of partners.
International building code requires BDA Systems be installed in all new construction projects under the fire code.
First, we place a large antenna on the top of the building, which is called a "donor antenna." Then we install coax cable from the antenna through each floor of the building, which acts as wireless access points. We have a device that can help us identify where to place these access points, so we place them where signals would be harder to transmit through the Emergency Responder Radio System without the BDA System.
